When Eric and I lived in Taiwan in 1980 we experienced the Lunar New Year...People gave one another "Red Envelopes" or hongbao in Mandarin as a symbol of good luck and prosperity. The color red is significant as it is associated with joy, happiness and success in Chinese culture. The hongbao is typically filled with cash!
We would say "Gong Xi Fa Cai! Hongbao Nalli?" which means Happy New Year, where is the red envelope? LOL
Wishing you all Joy in this New Year of the WOOD SNAKE!

May we all rise up, and be inspired with happiness and then share it!
