The year 2026 invites us to explore a powerful intention: space. Not just the physical space around us, but the deeper, more meaningful space we create in our lives. Space to hold others, space to nurture ourselves and our loved ones, and space to dream of new places and possibilities. This journey is about feeling spacious inside and all around us, connecting to the infinite space that exists beyond the noise of daily life. When we pause and simply be, we tap into this vastness that is always available.
What Does It Mean to Hold Space for Others?
Holding space means being fully present with someone without judgment or interruption. It is about offering emotional support and creating a safe environment where others can express themselves freely.
Listening deeply: Focus on hearing not just words but feelings behind them,
Being BIG EARS!
Being patient: ALLOW others to process their emotions at their own pace.
Avoiding advice-giving: Sometimes people need to be heard, not fixed.
Offering empathy: Show understanding and compassion without trying to change the situation. LET THEM LET ME, read the book by Mel Robbins...I loved it!
For example, if a friend is going through a tough time, holding space means sitting with them quietly, acknowledging their pain, and letting them know you are there without rushing to solve their problems.
Creating Space for Yourself and Loved Ones
In our busy lives, it’s easy to forget the importance of creating space for rest, reflection, and connection. This space is essential for mental and emotional health.
Set boundaries: Protect your time and energy by saying no to commitments that drain you.
Schedule downtime: Block out moments in your calendar for relaxation or hobbies.
Create physical space: Organize your living area to feel open and calming, then you mind will potentially feel calmer too vs a chaotic space where things are everywhere!
Encourage shared space: Plan activities with loved ones that foster connection, like family dinners or walks.
For instance, dedicating 30 minutes each evening to unplug from devices and enjoy quiet time can help you recharge and feel more spacious inside. YES and if that isn't possible you can in 16 seconds just BREATHE...INHALE TO COUNT OF 4, HOLD FOR 4, EXHALE FOR 4, HOLD THE BREATHE in for 4....that is all it takes for a Pattern Interrupt to BEGIN AGAIN,,,don't judge yourself for what you don't do...Feel the Spaciousness inside for taking time for you (and if you do this breathe 4 times it is already a Min!) You WILL FEEL IT!
BIG NAMASTE taking the time to read this post, for taking a breathe, for being and for meeting me here.
Carol
